SWEET & HAPPY TOOTH
Hello Everyone,
I Harsh Goyal a MBA student. I have a sweet tooth and occasionally get
cravings to have something sweet. If you put a chocolate pastry in front of me then, I am sorry
but all my focus will be on the pastry and you’ll feel ignored. The only
problem is that now a days fat is out and fit is in and as we all know that
sweets, desserts, chocolates is all about calories….but I cannot live without
sweets so after reading a lot of health related books and surfing the net I
found out that I can enjoy my cookies without worrying about my pot belly.
Through this blog I share with you my take on eating healthy
and eating sweet because in the end what really matters is your happiness. For
me happiness and desserts is the same thing. Before talking about how to eat
healthy let’s talk a bit about our happiness.
So my readers, the First and Foremost thing that I would like
to tell you all is that, “YOU ARE AWESOME”.
Yes each of you are awesome in your own different way, it doesn’t matter
if you are rich, poor or tall, short, or fat, thin. These words are just
adjectives and nothing else. And if you ever feel low all you have to do is
bake a cake and well eat however you want to eat it.
Now, let’s get on to the part of how to cutting the calories
while making a yummy desert.
- The All Purpose Flour (Maida): Maida is the most essential ingredient in making any dessert but at the same time it is one of the most harmful ingredients. We can always substitute Maida with Whole wheat flour and even Oats
- Refined Sugar: Sugar is the devil. It only gives you an initial high which wears out in a little while. The substitutes for sugar can be, coconut sugar, maple syrup, honey or if you want a closer substitute then you can use brown sugar.
- Butter: Any dessert is incomplete without butter but we are all about healthy so we we'll make desserts without using butter. Instead of butter we can use olive oil, coconut oil or even mashed bananas.
Once these three main ingredients are
substituted you will be able to have a healthy desert that too guilt free.
You all must be thinking that I am no different
than the others who just blabber about being healthy but no….I am not just here
to give you advice or suggestions on what to eat and what not to eat, I will
share with you the recipe of my favourite chocolate cake so that you
can connect with me and always give your comments to improvise on it.
EGGLESS CHOCOLATE CAKE:
Yes you heard me right, all you
vegetarians can now enjoy your favourite chocolate cake even a home.
I have made this cake quite a few
times now using whole wheat flour instead of all purpose flour.
So, the ingredients required are:
- Whole wheat flour – 1 cup
- Brown sugar – ½ cup
- Cocoa powder – 3 tablespoon
- Baking Soda – 1/4th tablespoon
- Eating Soda – 1/4th tablespoon
- Olive Oil – ½ cup
- Milk – ½ cup (cold)
- Chocolate essence – 2 tablespoons
Recipe:
- Powder the sugar and then mix the sugar, flour and cocoa powder. Then pass it through a sieve and keep it aside.
- In a bowl, put the oil, milk and the essence and mix it.
- Add the flour mixture to the bowl and stir it only in one direction.
- Once you see bubbles forming that means your batter is ready.
- Grease your cake tin with some oil, put the batter in it and put it in the oven for about 20-25 mins at 180 degree. There you go folks; your yummy chocolate cake is ready in just half an hour.
So you see now, for me it is not just about being healthy.
Many people starve themselves to be healthy. I don’t want to starve myself or I
don’t want you to starve yourself either. If you aren’t happy then you are not
healthy from within and trust me one can only be healthy from outside if you
are healthy from inside.
So eat and pamper yourself, eat whatever you
want to, eat whatever your mind craves for, cuz guys these days aren’t coming
back and if you don’t eat now when will you eat….when you’re 70!
Just keep in mind that whatever you are eating is healthy for
you and is providing your body with the proper nutrition that your body needs.
I hope you like my blog and if you have any suggestions then
